Remember, it’s not just about your golf swing. It’s about HOW you practice (not necessarily how much) and how you think and select your targets during a round of golf. There are scientifically proven ways to do this better, based on how we are wired to learn as humans and utilizing shot dispersion probabilities. Aaron can help get you up the “total golf performance” learning curve as fast as possible.
Tony Di Silvestro, Lead Instructor - Prairie Highlands
Tony is a Leawood native who has had a passion for golf from a young age. After graduating high school from Shawnee Mission South as a 4-year letter winner and 3-time state qualifier, Di Silvestro played on scholarship at Ottawa University. Throughout his college career, Tony learned from Courtney Mahon and helped coach her summer camps and programs.
After leaving college, Tony accepted a job as the summer intern at TopGolf Overland Park, running the junior golf program. Through this experience Tony got the opportunity to bring the game he loved to kids. This was the pivotal moment when he decided growing the game of golf was his passion. When the internship ended, he continued with TopGolf as a full time instructor. During this time he was recognized as a national associate of the month for his work with “Clubs for a Cause,” a philanthropy he created while at TopGolf. He collected junior clubs from various donation opportunities, and then teamed with Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Kansas City to find children to pair with those golf clubs. With the support of TopGolf, Tony gave new golfers free access to practice and instruction, and hopefully introduced a love of the game to kids who might otherwise not have had an opportunity.
Tony’s time at TopGolf was a key motivator to pursue his Professional Golf Management degree through the PGA. He has also served as a teaching instructor at Country Club of Leawood and most recently as an assistant professional at LionsGate. While at LionsGate Tony continued his growth as an instructor, developing his positive style of teaching. Working with the PGA Jr. League at LionsGate he learned to share his own competitive experiences with his students. Tony uses his experience from college golf practice to create drills and games that are engaging and effective for golfers of all age ranges.
Tony is currently a Level 1 PGA apprentice working toward his Class A Certification. He is excited to learn and continue his development as an instructor. Tony will be the Head Instructor for Prairie Highlands and is excited to help grow the culture at Prairie Highlands.
